Yoga Instructor Seanna Tracy at The Yoga Lab Los Osos

Seanna Tracy

What inspired you to start practicing yoga?

I started practicing yoga when Western medicine wanted to medicate me for experiencing grief. Talk therapy wasn’t helping. Someone suggested yoga—and it gave me the space to feel, to breathe, and to begin healing in a way nothing else had.

More about me...

What can students expect from your classes?

That depends on the class! But no matter what, you can expect clear, effective communication, an invitation to move at your own pace, and a little bit of my lighthearted sass.

What’s your favorite (or least favorite) yoga pose and why?

Tough one—my favorite changes all the time. Right now, I’m really enjoying side plank with the extended hand to toe (Eka Pada Vashistasana). It makes me feel strong, focused, and just a little bit like a badass.

What’s your yoga teaching superpower?

Cueing. I’ve had people tell me, “You could be blind and drunk and still comprehend your classes effortlessly.” I don’t recommend being intoxicated while practicing yoga—but I do take that as a compliment to my clarity.

What’s one fun or quirky fact about you that most people don’t know?

I love memorizing people’s names. I keep a little notebook in my car to jot them down—pen to paper. It helps me stay connected and present with my students.

What lights you up outside the studio?

Girls’ trips, traveling with my friends, and diving into continuing education. I’m a lifelong learner and love weaving new insights into my teaching.
