What inspired you to start practicing yoga?
I was first drawn to yoga in 2009 while recovering from a knee injury. At the time, I was working in a physical therapy clinic and studying Kinesiology, so I was already fascinated by how the body heals and moves. What captivated me about yoga was how it complemented the science I was learning, offering a gentler, more holistic approach to healing that reached beyond just the physical. It felt like a bridge between movement and mindfulness, and I was hooked.
More about me...
What can students expect from your classes?
Students can expect a lighthearted, slow-burn style class that invites exploration and ease. My goal is to create a space where trying something new feels safe, where movement brings joy, and where students leave feeling more connected to and confident in their capabilities.
What’s your favorite (or least favorite) yoga pose and why?
I try not to play favorites with poses. Some days I sink into certain poses like they are the coziest couch, and other days they feel more like wrestling a folding chair. It’s all part of the fun of figuring out what my body needs in the moment!
What’s your yoga teaching superpower?
My yoga teaching superpower is guiding students through every intricate anatomical detail of a pose, while they hold it just long enough to start questioning their life choices (in the best way possible).
What lights you up outside the studio?
I love trail running, reading, and walking on the beach with my dog, Brady.
